The LessonLoop iPhone app

Updated 7 August 2026 · 1 min read

LessonLoop has a native iPhone app on the App Store — the same studio, sized for the walk between lessons. Both staff and parents can use it.

There’s no Android app. On Android (or any other device), open LessonLoop in the browser — the web app is the full product, not a cut-down version, and it installs to your home screen if you’d like it to.

Lock the app on your device

On iPhone you can require Face ID or Touch ID to open LessonLoop — worth doing, since your phone holds children’s details and family invoices.

Settings → Profile → App lock (parents: the App lock card on their portal profile). The switch reads Require Face ID to open the app, and the small print explains the behaviour: Locks on this device after a minute in the background. Your device passcode works as a fallback.

The setting is per device and only appears in the app — there’s nothing to find on the web, because there’s nothing there to lock.

Taking and making payments

Apple’s rules mean payments don’t happen inside the app itself. When a card payment is needed, LessonLoop hands over cleanly: To keep your payment secure, you’ll finish paying in your browser. It only takes a moment, and you can come straight back to the app afterwards. Tap Continue in browser, pay, and you’re back.

Choosing or changing your LessonLoop subscription works the same way — that’s done on the web.

Keeping it current

If a version falls too far behind, the app says so plainly rather than misbehaving quietly — This version of LessonLoop is now out of date — with a button through to the App Store and an I’ve updated — check again to carry on.

Same data, either way The app and the web are the same studio. Mark a register on your phone between lessons and it's on your laptop before you sit down.
