Instruments and grades are the vocabulary the rest of LessonLoop uses — on student profiles, on repertoire pieces, and in your reports.
Instruments
Settings → Advanced → Instruments.
There’s a Standard catalogue built in, grouped by family, which covers most studios without you typing anything. If you teach something that isn’t in it, add it under Your custom instruments: type it into the Add an instrument… box and select Add (pressing Enter or comma works too). Remove a custom one with the × on its chip.
Until you add any, the section says so: None yet — add any not in the standard list below.
Editing instruments is an owner and admin job; everyone else sees the list.
Grade levels
Settings → Advanced → Grade levels.
These are the standard exam grades used across the app (read-only reference) — grouped by system, and not editable. They exist so a piece marked “Grade 5” means the same thing everywhere, rather than five people typing it five ways.
Where they show up Instruments appear on student profiles and teacher profiles; grades appear on repertoire pieces — see track what each student is playing.
